Meet your coaches

Our kickboxing classes are led by two of the most experienced and qualified Kickboxing coaches in Nottingham - Owen King and Peter Cope.

4x kickboxing champion
Kickboxing instructor and silver medallist

Together they have an impressive record of over 70 years in Martial arts. Owen has won British, European and World titles, while Peter has won the World Silver Kickboxing medal, together with 5th & 4th degree black belts, and the list goes on. Owen and Peter have helped many students become more confident, get fitter, and learn how to protect themselves by teaching them the art of Kickboxing.

Owen King has coached beginner students such as Molly Cooper to victory,  helping them win their first, second, and third tournaments and take home the gold. He’s also been the head coach for respectable UFC fighters such as "Judo" Jimmy Wallhead, Andre Winner, and Jay Silva — They know what they’re doing!

Both coaches are patient, empathetic, and encouraging in their coaching abilities. They understand each student learns at their own pace and are there to support you every step of the way.

During the classes, they’ll keep a keen eye on your form, technique and progression. Some coaches might allow you to skip a few steps as long as they’re getting paid. Owen and Peter actually want you to make the biggest progress in your journey possible. That’s the main difference between your regular coaches and Owen and Peter.

Even if you have some experience in Kickboxing, there’s always some new remarkable insight to learn when you train alongside these two.

Success stories

What should you wear for Kickboxing classes?

For kickboxing classes, it’s important to wear comfy, baggy trousers, joggers or shorts. Women can wear leggings and need a supportive sports bra. Make sure there are no zips or unnecessary buttons on any item for safety reasons. Tie back long hair and bring a water bottle to keep hydrated – you’re going to need it.

If you have your own gloves or hand wraps, please bring them along, but if you don’t, you can borrow ours.
